There’s a soft spot in my heart for my little Baby’s First Year clients. It’s so special following a baby’s journey from the very beginning and capturing them as they reach each of their milestones. By the end of their first year, they truly feel like a part of my family! Sweet Mila is one of First Year babies and let me tell you, with every session she gets cuter and cuter! This session was especially fun because it was her first after she learned to sit up by herself. We sat her down in the grass and we immediately saw her chubby little hand grab a handful of grass and it headed straight for her mouth!

It was perfect that we scheduled this session right before the holidays because Mila’s grandparents were in town and able to come be a part of her session. We were able to capture everyone together as well as some three generation portraits that I know Mila will love looking back on when she’s older. I know these pictures will be priceless to Mila and her family, as they are some of the last they have with her grandfather, who passed this spring. I’m so happy that he was able to come visit and be a part of this family session. Now, Mila will have pictures with her grandpa in her baby album that she can treasure for years to come.

It’s been a busy year at the studio, causing our Scottsdale Santa Photos to be shared here in MAY. As someone who LOVES the holidays, I think it is the perfect little dose of Christmas to hold me over until December!

Every year, Santa comes down from the North Pole to visit Scottsdale kids at my photography studio. He brings gifts, cookies, milk and of course PLENTY of stories about the North Pole. My favorite thing about having Santa at the studio is seeing the kids’ faces light up when they first see him or when he tells them a story about how silly the elves are. Even more sweet is how gentle he is with the little babies, there for their very first visit with Santa. His visits always feel like true magic.

I can’t wait to have Santa at the studio again this year! He will be visiting on Saturday, December 2nd and is so excited to see your little ones! Santa Sessions will be released on our newsletter in August. To be added to our exclusive list, message me!

Every year, I drag Cody out to capture our annual pictures together. It’s not something he loves, but he does it every year because he knows how important it is to me! This time was our first as more than a couple, but a family with our little puppy, Penny. I’ve wanted a puppy for years, but we waited until we were a bit more settled to get one. Now, with her here, it really does feel like we are a little family!

As a photographer myself, it can be a little hard to find someone that I trust to capture my family the way I see them. It’s hard to let go of that control and let someone else take care of light, posing and making me look as beautiful as I feel! So, when I found someone who does all of that and more, I hung on and won’t let go! =P Not only is Jaime Davis a wonderful friend, but she captures my family even more beautifully than I envision…and she does it every time! Thank you so much Jaime for making time for us on your trip here to Scottsdale, Arizona. I’m already looking forward to our next session!

Recently, I had the honor of capturing the Wests’ first portraits as a family of eight! They have been waiting over two years to welcome their three girls home. After waiting and waiting with little progress, they decided to travel to Uganda and take care of the adoption themselves. After a few months, everything was finalized and were finally able to bring the girls home!

The West Family has almost doubled, but it’s so sweet to see how it was as if these girls were in their family all along! Thank you so much to the Wests for having me as your photographer. Last year we welcomed a new family member and I know I’m biased, but I think she is the CUTEST thing. Introducing our girl, Penny! Last July, we got Penny from Arizona Shih Tzu when she was just a little tiny baby… only 9 weeks old! We’ll just say… she’s had us wrapped around her little paw ever since.

From the beginning, she has been such an easy dog! She was pretty well potty trained within the first week, caught onto her leash as soon as she was old enough for walks and has been sweet with all kids she meets! My favorite thing about Penny is that she so sweetly adjusts to whatever is going on in our day…she plays when we engage her, she naps when we are tired and she happily accompanies us on our many trips to Home Depot.

I’ve dreamed of having a dog for years and I’m so happy we finally have our girl; she’s everything I could have ever wanted and more! Here’s a peek at her 10 week portraits taken at my Scottsdale photography studio. I’ll be sharing her 6 month pictures here soon!
